Character Name: Alois Trancy
Source: Kuroshitsuji II
Personality:
Due to the earlier trauma in his life, Alois has a rather complicated personality. His emotions range from jovial to furious, and it’s not uncommon for him to switch between the two extremes with very little warning or provocation. In this sense, it would not be a stretch to categorize him as possessing bipolar disorder. When he is in a good mood, Alois is approachable, pleasant, and personable. You would never know about his darker past or his capacity to inflict harm on others. Conversely, when he’s in a sour mood it’s impossible to overlook it. He can be callous, condescending, and cold. Much of this is displayed when interacting with his maid, he seems to take most of his frustration out on her. For example, he poked one of her eyes out for just looking at him and laughed about it, plus he has thrown items at her on other occasions not caring whether they injured her or not.
There’s still another side of Alois, and that his childish eccentricities. There are certain things that frighten him terribly, such as being left alone, or the dark in generally. Having lost his family early on he fears being abandoned again and clings, often literally, to his demon butler Claude. He adores Claude, and is always disappointed when the feelings are not reciprocated but it never stops him from trying to hold the others attention. Given their Master and Servant relationship, Alois does not always treat him as one would expect a servant to be treated. Since their contract was forged, Alois’s desires seem to change as often as his moods, a fact that seems to be at least a mild irritant to his butler. What he really wants, he tends to leave unspoken.
It should also be noted that Alois has no qualms about invading anyone’s personal space, and he does not have an aversion to touching others. Also despite acquiring the title of a nobleman, he lacks the social graces he was not brought up with and has a tendency to speak using impolite terms, and employ questionable mannerisms. He retains these traits from the time he spent in the village, where he had only himself and his brother Luka to rely on. Baring no actual relation to the deceased Earl Trancy, Alois must keep up his appearances to an extent, but it’s not without some difficulty or flaws. The former Earl Trancy had at least one brother, and although Alois attempted to put on an act for his “Uncle” his displeasure and loathing for the man became evident by the end of their meeting despite all the preparations.
Underneath it all, Alois is still a child, granted a warped delusional one whose had almost a total lack of positive influences in his formative years but still a child. He craves affection and is bitter when he’s denied it. He acts out to get attention, and isn’t as tough as he might try to appear. He’s sadistic, and a bit of a narcissist. He’s quick to dismiss others if they are not saying what he wants to hear, and he can be rather enthusiastic and pleasant. Not to mention he holds a distrust of everyone, and a pessimistic view of the world in general.
History/Pull Point: http://kuroshitsuji.wikia.com/wiki/Alois_Trancy // Episode 5 & After the events as Medius Terra (http://medius-terra.livejournal.com/profile)
Medius Terra History :
Once he arrived in Medius Terra, Alois saw less of a reason to maintain the façade he usually presented to fellow members of high society although he still insisted on his being an Earl. There was one exception to this. Since Mary Hargreaves was related to an Earl and seemed to be from the same era, he occasionally tried to behave more like a gentleman around her.. Granted the veil was thin. The city of Avon where the game was set was modeled after a Victorian city so the transition, save for being deprived of his mansion and servants, wasn’t as difficult as it could have been. He tended to at like a brat and didn’t make a good first impression on hardly anyone. He loathed having been stripped of the title he’d murdered for in his own world, and having to start from the ground up again.
Nothing overly remarkable transpired until two visitors came to the town. They were different than the people who just woke up and found themselves in Avon, these too seemed to belong to this realm. The problem being that whoever talked to either visitor inexplicably began feeling rage at those who had spoken to a different visitor, and fondness for those who had spoken to the same visitor. This led to some confusion when Alois started acting more friendly toward Mello, a person he’d insulted so completely during their first conversation in person that he’d gotten punched for it. Conversely, Mary who he had tolerated somewhat before.. He ended up murdering by shoving her off a roof. Her death forced him to recall the death of his brother Luka and had quite an impact on him. Let’s when Mary returned a few days later he was more apologetic… after he was convinced that she wasn’t some poltergeist here to seek revenge nor a figment of his guilt personified.
When one of the mysterious visitors died a warning, a sort of clue was issued to all the residents of Avon. The clue when decoded it spelled Y.Pestis and meant disaster would soon befall the town. The Doctor, and Jin being the only ones with any medical knowledge immediately began making medicine to combat the Plague. Thankfully the Tardis was able to provide the materials they needed.. Unfortunately the medicine was no guarantee that everyone would live or that it would even work. Alois tried in vain to steal the medicine and hoard it for himself with no regard for others and considered selling placebos to the populace to earn a profit. He decided better of the latter not wanting to risk getting near potential carriers of the disease.
When the plague did sweep the town, Alois was one of the first ones struck with it. Jin and Mary cared for hi despite the attempted theft, the earlier murder, etc and managed to save his life but not without his suffering through it or other consequences. The plague clamed most of the residents. In one of the only kind acts Alois had displayed since his arrival, he tried caring for Mary but the strain she’d contracted was far worse and nothing he did could have saved her. His motivations for trying to help her were in part for her benefit but they were mostly for his. He didn’t want to be left completely alone. With her gone for a second time he eventually couldn’t stand remaining in the tenant building and roamed the streets. He did find Mello and although the two truly loathed each other he was elated to see another person he knew was alive. Anything to not be alone. It took longer for everyone to return this time..but this is when he realized he felt a sort of closeness to Mary. They had suffered through one of the worst situations imaginable and that comradely had an effect. This is also the time when he decided to avidly seek ways to try and bring his deceased brother here. Deceased people had arrived in the past, and were perfectly alive now. Plus.. If one couldn’t really die… it would mean he’d never have to lose Luka again.
This is about the time when the game wound down and ended up closing. Although a mysterious shop that sold occult items had popped up, Alois had tried to get information out of Break again, and a mysterious fire that didn’t burn cropped up and was never explained there wasn’t much in the way of character development here. The events at Medius Terra hadn’t really changed Alois all that much. He had finally began to open up to someone and started to let her get close to him but .. It was only the beginning of a possible lasting change. Though he did grow more possessive of Mary and didn’t like the idea of others spending toooooo much time with her lest she decide to leave him as a friend. He did sort of warm up more to Jin as well… but he was never good at voicing it.
Abilities/Special Powers/Non average skills:
As a child Alois had to rely more on his own wits not only to survive but also to look out for his younger brother. The direct result of this led to a certain level of skill in petty theft. He also possesses skill with a blade. The talent he uses most often is his ability to manipulate others to bend to his will. He’s not above lying to achieve this goal and is capable of acting convincingly. Alois does have a demonic contract on his tongue but it’s only visible when his demon butler is close.
[Game Specific]
Character class:
New class?
Zauberkünstler or conjurer (of spirits) - A Zauberkünstler is someone that generally doesn’t possess any great physical strength or magical abilities of their own so they rely on the spirits. The spirits they summon can either be more benevolent in nature or malicious depending on the person who calls them. For example, a person whose filled with hate will more than likely summon fearsome and destructive creatures while those pure of heart will bring forth magnificent and awe-inspiring ones. (I see a conjurer only being able to summon one spirit at a time and that one spirit being like the embodiment of one element)
Why your character would be that class: Alois has canonly summoned a demon, he does have some skill with a sword but not nearly enough to warrant the knight class. He already tended to rely on others power, so this would be in keeping with that mindset. Also….. He’s just not pure hearted, or magnanimous to be either a prince or an ashlad though I can see him pretending to be a prince…..
Powers/skills to be gained by being that class:The power to summon spirits. Naturally, without practice and experience with the spirit’s he’d only be able to summon a weaker spirit. As time progresses he might be able to summon something stronger.

As Mary and Alois continued to browse through Camera Obscura, a strange little shop that had just arrived dealing in the occult, he was still on the search for the next object that might give his companion a terrible fright. It was unusual spending time with someone else like this, he was usually at odds with everyone in Avon so this unlikely friendship wasn’t something he intended on losing. That didn’t stop him from playing the occasional prank on her, and if she ever stood in the way of his goals…. The situation could change abruptly. For the moment, however, things were fine between them. He slipped into one of the adjacent aisles when something caught his eye.
The blue cover, the embossed thorns… even in a shop full of similar tomes this one was the only one that really held his attention. Alois frowned at it, as if he was annoyed that the book had distracted him at all. Lifting it up he smoothed his hand over the cover and blew the dust off of it. Strangely, there was so title one it. He was tempted to discard it and move on, his attention span could only last for so long… but instead he flipped it open and leafed through it. It stopped on an illustration, “Feh… there’s nothing special about this worthless book…”. As if on cue the book shot out an array of lights. Alois gasped and dropped it immediately, but it was already too late. The Camera Obsura melted out of focus and he soon passed out.
When he came to, he found himself in an unusual room. Wherever it was it didn’t look like it was one of the rooms in the tenant building, the architecture was all wrong for it. He sat up quickly, and pushed off the bed. The sun was filtering through the curtains and casting shadows over the room. As soon as he became more aware of his surroundings he spied some old man on a stool. He narrowed his eyes and glowered at the man. What kind of person drags someone they don’t know to their house, puts them in bed and then just sits by the bed staring at them the whole time. “Just who do you think you are?”. He asked briskly, then he barely gave the old man any chance to answer. “I’m getting out of here..”.
The man tried to explain where Alois was and the basic details but after the boy heard this was supposedly another town entirely he didn’t want to hear anymore of it. “Yet another town?!”. He sneered and looked for any sort of object he could throw at the man. It was one thing to be spirited away once but to have it happen again?! He hurled object after object at the man, taking out his frustrations on him before storming out of the room.
Hadn’t something similar happened to some others back in Avon? Not as if he cared what happened to them. All that mattered was himself, and his own goals.. And once again he was going to have to start over from square one. He was livid.

[Alois was seated on a simple chair, his elbow propped up on the arm and his head resting on his palm looking a touch cross and strangely a touch amused]
Claude? Are you planning on collecting your master this time?
[He let out a huff and leaned forward, dropping the sarcasm. He had grown tired of his servant’s incompetence, and despised the fact that he had felt abandoned in the first world he’d woken up.. And now history was repeating itself. He spat the following words bitterly]
So where is this dump? It looks even worse than the last one… Don’t waste my time with your asinine introductions.. I only want answers. NOW.
[The change in location had done nothing for his mood nor his manners]
